Privacy

How SimplyMaths handles your family's information, in plain language. Last updated 20 August 2026.

Who we are

simplymaths.au is operated by Enthea Pty Ltd (ACN 701 450 517, ABN 22 701 450 517), trading as SimplyMaths, of Victoria, Australia. We are the entity responsible for the personal information described on this page.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have a privacy question or complaint, email support@simplymaths.au and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

What we collect

From parents: your email address and account details.

About each learner: the profile name and year level you enter when creating their profile — we ask you to use a nickname or first name only, never your child's full name, so we do not hold identifying details for children — and their learning activity — answers, scores, time spent on questions, hints used, flags, and exam results. Session logs record when your child studies and a coarse device label (like "Chrome on Windows") and city-level location; we do not store IP addresses or full device fingerprints in these logs.

Support chat: messages you send to the help assistant are kept so we can follow up and improve support.

How we use it

Learning activity powers progress tracking, the post-exam performance reports, practice recommendations, and the anonymous "How you compare" bands (always aggregated, never exact rankings, and hidden until the comparison group is large enough). We never sell personal information, never show ads inside SimplyMaths, and never share your child's learning data with third parties for their own use. The one thing that does leave us is advertising measurement on our logged-out public pages, described below — it never runs on a signed-in session.

Advertising measurement on our public pages

When we run ads, we need to know whether they actually bring families to us. On our public pages only — the home page, articles, help, and the sign-in and create-account screens — we load Meta's measurement tag, which tells Meta that a visit and, if you create an account, a registration came from one of our ads.

It is never loaded once anyone is signed in. It does not run on the student hub, lessons, practice, exams, reports, or the parent area, and it is not in our iOS or Android apps. That boundary is deliberate: it means the tag never sees a child's session, and no learning activity, exam result or child profile is ever sent to Meta.

We do not send your name, your email address or your child's details to Meta. If you would rather not be measured this way, any standard tracker blocker or your browser's tracking protection will stop it, and the site works exactly the same with it blocked.

AI analysis and where data is processed

SimplyMaths is hosted on Amazon Web Services. The AI that writes performance reports and study recommendations runs on Amazon Bedrock in the United States: before analysis we remove direct identifiers, so the AI sees performance signals (answers, timing, topics) — not your child's name or your email address. AI providers used this way do not train their models on your data.

Our team can additionally enable Google-hosted AI models (Gemini API) for some analysis tasks. These are clearly labelled "US, Google-hosted" in our admin tools, are off unless explicitly chosen, and receive the same de-identified performance data only.

How long we keep it

Learning records are kept while the account is active so progress history stays useful. Study-session logs are automatically deleted after 24 months, and detailed per-question practice records after 3 years (summary results and progress are kept). The learning record we keep of each lesson read, question answered and practice session is held for 3 years for the detail, 2 years for presence records, and 5 years for exam and lesson summaries. If you close your account — or email us at any time — we will delete your family's personal information, keeping only anonymised aggregates (like the peer-comparison statistics) that cannot be traced back to your child.

Your rights

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you or your child at any time — email support@simplymaths.au and we will respond within a few business days.
